BLOGV-W-1

When planning a wedding, there are so many details! But you wouldn’t believe…planning a vow-renewal is just as detailed! And this little stationery detail is one that is fun, functional, and informative! It’s a “welcome fan”! The Mother-in-law placed these unique paper fans into the welcome bags that were given to all of their out-of-town guests. Having this “fan” was super thoughtful of her because the event was in the heat of summer down south, in Georgia. So, while guests toured the beautiful city of Atlanta and surrounding areas, they were able to stay somewhat “cool”! This “fan” featured important information, as well as a custom hand-drawn map on the backside. Information that was included were the vow-renewal weekend events such as the Welcome Dinner, Vow Renewal, Reception, and Farewell Brunch. Other info included was a personal list of “favorite things to see and do” in Alpharetta, Roswell, and Atlanta. The list included cool places to eat and drink, popular shopping areas, antique stores, golf courses, parks, farmer’s markets, and museums…like the renowned High Museum of Art.

Your welcome bags should be filled with other fun goodies too! Fill them with local goodies such as staple items popular to the area…whether it be food items (snacks), beverage, small gift item(s), or a city souvenir like a cute magnet! Personalize the bags with customized favor tags with each of the guest’s names on it! It’s all in the details! Make it fun!

This welcome fan was one of many stationery items designed for my client. Stay tuned, as I will be featuring her beautiful Vow-Renewal Invitation! She fell in love with our Julie Collection Invitation but wanted it tweaked to accommodate some enclosure cards. Can’t wait to share it with you!

Shabby Starfish staged WATERMARK 2

This collection was designed for a bride that fell in love with my Shabby Chic and Caroline Collections. I was flattered to hear her excitement.  We started the collaboration by meshing the two collections together to create a brand new collection called the Shabby Starfish!  The light airy colors and whimsical design is sure to bring a smile to your face, as it is all the shabby and chic.  It is simple, elegant, and fun too! The Shabby Starfish is the perfect collection for any bride who wants to take whimsy to the beach on her special day!

The Shabby Starfish collection features place cards, favor sticks, and wedding programs.

The place cards were designed to be attached to individual starfish that the bride set on each table setting.   What a unique way to make the place cards special! If you’re looking for a more typical style place card, the Shabby Chic place card is a great example.

The favor sticks were designed to be placed inside individual small white metal pails filled with assorted colored jelly beans. The favor sticks feature a monogram on the front side with wedding date and the bride and groom names. On the back side,  there is a “Thank You” note.   This detail can be made with your personal monogram and any quote or message.  Another unique touch to the decor/stationery!  See this link for more favor ideas.

This collection also featured pretty rhinestones that were placed in the center of the starfish graphic. The wedding program is a flip-book that also features a rhinestone. The style and format of this program is exactly the same as the Shabby Chic program. A few other signage elements were designed such as a layered card that she tied to a white vintage birdcage, labeling it as her gift card holder! Signage is a nice detail to add to any wedding or event!

The choice of decor used with the stationery added to the overall “beachy” feel.  This dreamy collection is displayed in a popular wedding color palette of white, beige, gold, and shades of pink.  However, it can be modified to fit any colors you wish! This was a fun project for me, so if you are undecided between collections, no worries!  Just let me know what you like and I will be happy to custom design a collection specifically for you and your event!  Wedding, birthday, or any occasion!   View all my collections and designs via my portfolio!

Happy Planning! My Lady Dye

Seating charts staged with WATERMARK 4

Whether you’re having a small or large wedding reception, a guest seating chart is always a great way to add some spice to your reception decor!  Items like this look great when they are a larger print.  Sized 24″ x 36″ is a great size and the larger the better!  You can get them printed 30″ x 42″ too! If you prefer a little smaller, then I recommend 18″ x 24″.  Seating charts can be mounted on thick light weight foam board (white or black) OR they can be placed into a simple poster frame or an extravagant gilded and embellished picture frame. Usually placed at the entry way of the reception area or dining area, these fun and colorful seating charts are bound to catch the eyes of all your guests! These functional pieces of art serve as directional and informational signage. They make it easy for your guests to find their seats and tables.  Nothing is worst than having a bunch of people wondering around the reception area, trying to glance at each place card to find their names!  You can also have the dinner menu placed on the seating chart as well. This information is usually centered on the chart.

I definitely recommend getting a good designer, like moi :), to custom design your seating chart to match your wedding theme! Whether it’s a damask, a vintage modern, a medieval, a beach theme, or other, just message me and we’ll work together to get the perfect design!  Custom designs are my favorite and are always fun for my clients as well!  Below are some of my creative seating chart designs! Feel free to comment and let me know your thoughts! Click here to shop for my seating charts.
